Prepare a brief with a concrete reader and task
A useful Instagram content brief gives draft creation direction. Start with one audience and one offer, then name the questions your content should answer. Include the reader’s situation and the action they should be able to take after reading.
For a hypothetical photographer, the audience might be families preparing for a first outdoor session. Useful topics could cover location choice, clothing coordination and what to bring. The offer context includes the actual session type and the page where people can read the details.
Write down verified facts before generating anything: scope, location, price if relevant and the intended next step. Decide which claims require your review and which customer material you have permission to use.
Map the brief to the planner fields
Open GramFather’s AI content planner. Give the batch a descriptive Series name, such as “Family session preparation.” In What should we create?, describe the audience, topic and practical purpose of each post.
An illustrative brief: “Create a short series for families planning an outdoor photography session. Explain location preparation, choosing comfortable clothing and getting ready on the day. Give one concrete preparation action per post. Use hypothetical examples and focus on our published session process.”
Use Style and caption instructions for the tone, visual direction and verified offer details. For example: “Warm, practical language and natural outdoor imagery. Short captions with clear steps. Refer only to the supplied session scope. End with an invitation to read the preparation page.” Replace this with your real requirements.
Choose the content and model settings deliberately
The Content control offers Images, Videos / Reels, or Images and Reels. Select the format that serves your explanation. The available image type and model options depend on the content and provider choices shown in the planner.
Model choices lets you use saved defaults or choose for the current batch. Review the displayed image and video provider and model settings before generation. Planning and captions use the OpenRouter connection; media generation is billed through the selected provider account.
Keep provider costs in your planning. A free GramFather account and a generated media request have different billing arrangements. Start with a small batch that you can review carefully, then adjust your brief based on the drafts you actually receive.
Set a schedule that matches the work
The planner offers 7-, 14- and 30-day presets, along with Number of posts, Start date, Time and Days between posts. Check the timezone shown beside the time field and the summary of how many days the series spans.
A preset is a planning shortcut. Choose a cadence that gives you time to review content and respond to the conversations it starts. If you need three posts over a longer period, use the controls to express that plan rather than accepting a preset automatically.
Select Save reusable brief when you want to retain the specification for later. Reusing a brief still calls for a fresh check of offer details, dates and model settings. A reusable starting point should evolve with your business.
Review the output before approving it
- Meaning: does each post answer a distinct useful question?
- Facts: are scope, prices, names and claims accurate?
- Visuals: do the images or videos fit the intended message?
- Caption: is the language clear and appropriate for your business?
- Destination: does the next step lead to the promised information?
- Timing: is the publication time correct and still in the future?
The review interface provides Edit post & time and selection controls for ready drafts. Approve & schedule schedules selected drafts for automatic posting from the connected browser. Approval therefore has a real publishing consequence; review the content and schedule first.
Regeneration creates a new draft and can incur additional provider usage. Use it when a revised brief or creative direction will improve the output.
Keep the best brief and record what changed
After reviewing a batch, note which instructions improved the drafts and which needed clarification. A short “use this example of our tone” instruction may help more than several broad adjectives. Preserve specific verified facts and remove outdated details.
Use the content calendar worksheet for editorial planning outside the app and the calendar guide for choosing topics. This walkthrough covers translating that plan into the actual planner fields.
