Use Analytics to understand Instagram progress

Use GramFather Analytics to understand your Instagram progress and decide what to do next. This walkthrough shows every dashboard control, the reporting periods, charts and tables, campaign funnels, post performance, planning links and common fixes. We use the actual interface with fictional teaching data. The sample numbers demonstrate how the page works.

Open Analytics for the correct account

In the sidebar, open Insights and click Analytics. Check the Instagram handle at the top and in the page description. Use the account switcher to view another connected account. Analytics shows one account at a time and is included in every plan. Reading this dashboard does not post, follow, like or send messages.

Connect the source of your statistics

Keep Chrome open with the extension connected and Instagram signed in to the account you want to measure. The first follower and post snapshot usually arrives within minutes of connecting. The extension then reads the follower count and twenty-four newest posts every six hours while Chrome is open. Older posts are collected a few at a time in the background.

Choose seven, thirty or ninety days

In Date range, choose seven days, thirty days or ninety days. We select seven days, and the cards recalculate for that range. Today is included. The page opens on thirty days each visit; this choice is not saved. All the reporting cards follow the period except Best time to post, which uses its own historical window. There is no custom date picker or export on this page.

Check snapshot age and reporting time zone

Beside the range, Last snapshot tells you when the extension last read follower and post statistics. No snapshot yet means that first reading has not arrived. Days in names the time zone used to group dates. To change it, open Settings, Automation and safety, Active hours, choose Time zone and save. A time-zone change can move an action into a different reporting day.

Read the five headline numbers

Across the top, read Followers, Engagement rate, DMs sent, Reply rate and Conversions. The small labels supply context: follower change in the selected period, how many posts contribute to engagement, comparison with the previous period, and the value of deals you marked won. A dash means the required data is unavailable or insufficient. Read it together with the supporting label.

Compare periods correctly

DMs sent compares this period with the same number of days immediately before it. In our thirty-day example, one hundred twenty messages is nine percent above the previous period. Reply rate shows a change in percentage points: thirty-three percent is eight point three points above the earlier rate. The follower change is the end count minus the starting count inside the chosen range. These comparisons use different calculations.

Locate professional Instagram insights

The professional-insights notice explains the current collection limit. Automatic reach, views and profile-visit collection is not available yet. Open Instagram’s Professional dashboard to inspect those metrics. GramFather continues to show the follower, post-engagement and campaign information it collects. Video-play counts in post cards are a separate available post statistic.

Read an exact day on the follower chart

Scroll to Follower growth. The line shows recorded daily counts, and the subtitle shows the net change in the range. Point at a day, or click the chart and use the arrow keys, to reveal its exact date and count. Here the detail shows October thirteenth and one thousand two hundred forty followers. Growth needs counts from at least two different days inside your chosen range.

Switch between charts and daily tables

Click Table at the upper right of Follower growth. The same daily counts appear in rows, newest first. We use seven days so every row is easy to inspect. Click Chart to return to the line. Each chart’s control affects its own card, and cards open in Chart mode on a fresh visit. The gains, losses, automation and best-time cards also have this control.

Read identified follower changes

The Followers card combines the current count with identified new followers, losses and net growth for the period. It also has a compact gains-versus-losses chart. These identified changes require Follower Tracker’s initial scan. Click Open tracker to open that workflow for the same selected account. Use its follower lists when you want to investigate individual people behind the changes.

Inspect daily gains and estimated losses

The next two cards show Followers gained identified each day and Followers lost identified each day. Days without a scan are omitted. Use Table for the exact daily values. In the loss table, our latest day is labeled estimated, matching the approximation mark on the summary. Estimated losses come from count changes until a full scan can confirm the people. The Follower Tracker guides explain that scan process.

See what the automations completed

What the automations did groups completed work into daily stacked columns. The legend shows DMs sent, comment replies, follows, likes, posts published, unfollows and story views. Point at a day to see each category and its total. This is automated activity recorded by GramFather. The headline DM metric can include messages recorded from other sources, so different cards can have different totals.

Read every action type and daily total

Click Table in What the automations did. Each row contains the date, one column per action type and a Total column. Our newest fictional day has four DMs, two comment replies, three follows, eight likes and one post, totaling eighteen actions. Scroll through the rows to compare days, then click Chart to restore the visual pattern. Choose a longer range at the top when you need more history.

Compare campaign funnels

Next are Auto-DM outreach, Follow and engage, and Comment-to-DM. The subtitle gives the proportion reaching the last step from the first. The percentage beside each later step is its share of the step directly above. Point at a step to read what it counts. In outreach, sixty people received a message, eighteen replied, and three were marked won: five percent reached the final step.

Understand what each funnel follows

Outreach tracks people messaged during the range, their later replies, and later moves to a Won stage. Follow and engage tracks people followed, liked, commented on or whose stories were viewed, then whether they followed back. These two funnels include later outcomes from the starting group. Comment-to-DM counts comments, distinct commenters and people messaged by Comment replies inside the selected period. Read each step’s definition when comparing percentages.

Open setup from an empty funnel

If a feature has no activity in the range, its card says Nothing in this range yet. Start an outreach campaign opens Outreach. Start engaging opens the engagement workflow. Turn on comment-to-DM opens Comment replies, where you review and enable its settings. These dashboard links take you into setup. Follow the dedicated feature tutorial to configure the audience, messages and controls.

Read post totals and engagement

The Posts card lists posts published in the period, how many came through Scheduler, average likes, average comments, average video plays and the number of videos or reels. Post averages use the content GramFather has read. Video-play averages use posts with available play counts. A dash means there is no suitable data for that calculation. Read the information line beneath the figures for collection context.

Find and open your top posts

Top posts ranks up to six posts by likes plus comments. Each item shows those interaction counts, video plays when available, an engagement percentage and its date. Click a post to open it on Instagram in a new tab. The examples here are fictional, so we use them to explain the ranking. With your own account, inspect the leading posts to identify useful topics and formats.

Understand the all-time post fallback

If the chosen period contains no posts, the Posts card shows zero and unavailable averages. Top posts can still show your best available posts from all time; its subtitle tells you when that fallback applies. This helps you find useful examples while preserving the period’s zero-post result. For a period-specific comparison, select a longer range containing your publishing dates.

Use the best-time heatmap and table

Best time to post summarizes average likes plus comments by weekday and hour in the displayed time zone. Its history is independent of the seven-, thirty- or ninety-day selector. Read the post sample and suggested slots. Point at a cell or use the arrow keys for details, then click Table for the numerical grid. The separate best-time tutorial explains sample size, historical coverage and recommendations in detail.

Plan the next post from your results

Click Plan your next post in the Posts card, or Schedule a post in Best time to post. Both open Scheduler for the selected account. We open it here. Create and review your content, media and timing in that workflow. Use your strongest topics and the timing information as inputs, then compare future results against your own history.

Refresh the latest stored Analytics data

Return to Analytics and click Refresh beside Date range to reload its overview and follower data. The open page also refreshes these figures every thirty seconds. Refresh shows the latest data GramFather already has; it does not instruct the extension to take a new Instagram snapshot. Check Last snapshot separately when you are waiting for fresh follower or post readings.

Resolve partial follower and post data

A blue Follower and post stats are on their way notice means activity is already recorded, but the first follower and post snapshot has not arrived. Keep Chrome open with the connected extension and the correct Instagram login. The notice clears after that snapshot. Follower Tracker’s identified changes have their own initial-scan requirement, so those cards can fill in at a different time.

Fix an empty or stale dashboard

If Analytics fills in after the extension’s first snapshot appears, use Connect the extension when offered, then keep Chrome and the correct Instagram account open. For an old snapshot, check the same connection. For a loading error, click Try again, reload, and verify your portal sign-in. Contact support with the account and affected card if it continues. The description links the software, free trial and exact written guide.

Open the current help guide
